Could the growing number of people reporting encounters with heaven and hell be a warning that we are living in the final generation?

That’s what author and near-death survivor Randy Kay believes. During a powerful appearance on Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural!, Kay shared his extraordinary testimony of being clinically dead for more than 30 minutes and explained why he believes God is sending people back from the brink of eternity with an urgent message.

Kay, who has compiled 140 near-death testimonies in his book Heaven Encounters, believes these accounts point to something much bigger than individual supernatural experiences.

“This is the final invitation to this generation which may very well be the final generation,” Kay warned.

Here are seven powerful revelations from his interview.

1. Randy Kay Warns This Could Be the Final Generation

Kay believes the increasing number of reported encounters with heaven and hell could be connected to biblical end-times prophecy.

Pointing to Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17, he suggested that those returning from these experiences are serving as messengers, warning people about eternity and the coming of Jesus Christ.

“I believe this is the last generation and this is a privileged generation,” Kay said.

He believes God is giving humanity another opportunity to respond to the gospel before Christ’s return.

2. Kay Says He Was Dead for More Than 30 Minutes

On April 5, 2005, Kay experienced a life-threatening medical emergency involving pulmonary emboli, MRSA and septic shock.

According to his testimony, hospital monitoring equipment recorded that his heart stopped for 30 minutes and 49 seconds.

During that time, Kay says he encountered Jesus face-to-face.

He describes the experience as so overwhelming that he did not want to return to earthly life. Yet he believes God brought him back for a specific purpose.

3. Why God May Be Sending People Back From Heaven

Kay says he has gathered 140 accounts of people reporting encounters with heaven or hell.

His team attempts to evaluate these testimonies through available medical records, family interviews and examinations of how the experiences changed people’s lives.

He compares their message to Jonah’s warning to Nineveh.

Just as God sent Jonah to warn a city facing judgment, Kay believes these individuals are returning with a message of repentance, salvation and the reality of eternity.

4. A Serious Warning About Counterfeit Supernatural Experiences

Not every supernatural experience comes from God, Kay cautioned.

He warned that New Age spirituality, universalism and other deceptive teachings can distort people’s understanding of heaven and the afterlife.

Kay believes genuine encounters point people toward Jesus Christ rather than an impersonal spiritual force or vague higher consciousness.

5. People From Different Religions Claim They Encountered Jesus

Among the most striking claims Kay shared were testimonies from individuals raised in Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and atheism.

According to Kay, these people reported encountering Jesus despite their differing religious backgrounds. One example he highlighted was Jeffrey Porter, a former atheist who reportedly experienced a terrifying encounter with hell before calling upon Jesus for help. Kay says Porter subsequently surrendered his life to Christ and experienced a dramatic spiritual transformation.

For Kay, these accounts reinforce the biblical truth that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone.

6. The Two Words Kay Says Jesus Spoke to Him

One of the most emotional moments came when Kay described looking into the eyes of Jesus.

He said he experienced a love unlike anything he had known and realized that Christ understood every painful moment of his life.

Kay recalled asking Jesus whether He had felt the pain he endured as a child.

According to Kay, Jesus revealed that the greatest pain was separation from Him. However, during Kay’s encounter, Jesus spoke two words that changed everything for the rest of his life: “Trust me.”

7. The Final Invitation: Are We Ready for Eternity?

Ultimately, Kay believes these testimonies are not simply extraordinary stories intended to capture people’s attention. Instead, he sees them as a call to repentance and spiritual preparation. Heaven is real, hell is real, and everyone must decide about Jesus Christ.

As the world grows increasingly uncertain, the biblical call remains unchanged. Now is the time to seek the Lord, stand firmly on His Word and share the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ.
