Three earthquakes in 24 hours. No injuries. No destruction. Yet the message beneath the surface is loud and clear: we’re being warned, and Scripture said it would be so.
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the tremors along California’s infamous San Andreas Fault, the fault line long feared for its potential to unleash what scientists call “The Big One.” These most recent quakes, ranging in magnitude from 2.5 to 2.9, may seem small, but they’re part of a larger story that continues to unfold.

As reported by the Daily Mail, “Experts are ‘fairly confident that there could be a pretty large earthquake at some point in the next 30 years,’” said Angie Lux of the Berkeley Seismology Lab. Their projections are dire: up to 1,800 deaths, 50,000 injuries, and $200 billion in damages.
It’s not just California. The Cascadia Subduction Zone, a fault line lurking off the coast from northern California to southern Canada, is showing ominous signs too. Scientists now estimate a magnitude 8.0 quake in that region could cause coastal land to sink up to 6.5 feet within just 30 minutes. The result? “An additional 14,350 residents, 22,500 structures and 777 miles of roadway would fall within the post-earthquake floodplain,” the report warns.
So what does all this have to do with the Bible? Everything.
Jesus told us plainly in Matthew 24:7 that “there will be earthquakes in various places” as signs of the last days. He didn’t say every quake would be catastrophic, but He did say they would be consistent.
That’s exactly what we’re seeing: persistent seismic rumblings on a planet groaning under the weight of sin and awaiting redemption (Rom. 8:22).

Dr. Sue Hough of the USGS acknowledged, “There are conflicting studies about what signs precede a major earthquake.” But for believers, the ultimate signs aren’t from scientists, they’re from the Savior. He told us to watch, to be ready and to discern the times.
This isn’t about fear, it’s about faith. The ground may shake, but God’s Word stands firm. These earthquakes aren’t random. They’re reminders. Are we paying attention?
As these prophetic tremors ripple through the earth, maybe it’s time we let them shake us awake, not just physically, but spiritually.

I picked up from prophetic sources I trust, two shows, that a marked increase in volcanic activity–Richter scale activity above 6–has occurred in recent history, very recent is geologic time. I think that number was picked as the line for significant quakes, something you would feel. And it always felt under published, because unlike global warming, sea level non-rising, it is measurable and potentially impactful. So I appreciated this article. Thanks.
