Five thousand men were hungry and the disciples ran the math on what it would cost to feed them.
Then somebody noticed a kid with a sack lunch.
John 6:9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”
Andrew does two things in that one sentence. He recognizes the resource. Then he immediately dismisses it. Both instincts live in the same breath, and most of us run the same play every week.

Recognition comes before multiplication. Every time. Jesus did not create bread out of nothing that day. He multiplied what somebody finally noticed and handed over.
I wrote a chapter on this in The Power to Prosper called the Law of Recognition, and it runs on four questions.
- What am I good at? That is your design.
- What do I love to do? That is your desire.
- What do people need? That is the demand.
- What will people pay for? That is your dominion.
The overlap is your answer. It is usually already in your hand, unnoticed because it came easy to you and you assumed easy meant small.
You cannot multiply what you have not first recognized.
Run the four questions this week. Write the answers down somewhere you will see them. Look hard at the overlap.
Look at what is in your hand.
