What happens when believers around the world unite to pray for nations where millions have never heard the gospel? Cindy Jacobs and Generals International are calling us to find out through Light the Nations, a prayer initiative focused on 38 nations across the Greater Middle East.
From Sept. 22 through Oct. 4, we can choose a nation to pray for and join Christians worldwide in seeking a move of God among unreached people groups. Daily guides will focus on three or four countries, with information and prayer points to help us intercede together.
Mike and Cindy Jacobs share the heart behind the initiative in this message:
Come on a journey with us to reach 38 nations, and many unreached people groups, in prayer and evangelism, bringing the love of Jesus Christ and the Gospel of the Kingdom to those who may have never heard. We hear stories of people throughout the Middle East encountering Christ through dreams and visions. Can it be that this is the strategic hour where we are called to watch and pray until we see the greatest harvest of souls the world has ever seen?
You will be a part of this by adopting a target nation and praying together with us from September 22nd through October 4th. You are going to go on a Holy Spirit adventure as you pray. Beginning on September 22nd, we will be sending you a prayer guide daily with three or four of our 38 target countries in the Greater Middle East region. You will learn a little bit about each country and the unreached people groups in the country. Then, we will give you some points to pray in unity with others interceding from all around the world for those nations that day. Now, that’s some concentrated prayer power! Some of these nations are places we could never get to, but the Holy Spirit can!
There have been so many prayer initiatives over the years, but we really feel like God highlighted these 38 nations for this global prayer push this fall. These 38 nations are very spiritually dark. A remnant of the church may be there, but largely, the people groups living in these nations are unreached for the Gospel. Some of them once had thriving Christian populations historically, but things have waned over time. We strongly desire to see the light overcome the darkness once again, so the people can see Jesus! We want to see a lasting move of God resulting in societal change and Kingdom advancement, where people are set free to be everything God created them to be.

Then, watch for our daily emails and help us pray targeted prayers over the 3 or 4 nations mentioned that day. Or go to the Light The Nations website, find your target country/countries, and pray daily for them with the information on the site.
