As believers prepare to enter August, apostolic leader and author John Eckhardt is encouraging Christians to step into the new month with heightened expectation, declaring that it will be marked by new beginnings, divine repayment and God’s abundant favor.
In a recent YouTube message titled “Prophetic Decree for August 2026: Entering Your Season of Bountiful Repayment & Double Favor,” Eckhardt said the Holy Spirit impressed upon him one specific word while studying Scripture: bountiful. He pointed listeners to Psalm 142:7, which became the foundation for his prophetic encouragement heading into August.
Eckhardt noted that August, the eighth month of the year, symbolizes new beginnings in biblical numerology. Building on prophetic declarations he has shared throughout 2026, he said he believes this is a season of restoration, repayment and “double,” encouraging believers to receive God’s promises by faith as they continue to trust Him.
Turning to Psalm 142:7, Eckhardt highlighted what he described as a threefold promise contained within the verse. First, God brings His people out of places of imprisonment—whether emotional, spiritual or mental. Second, He surrounds them with righteous people who encourage, strengthen and pray for them. Finally, God promises to deal “bountifully” with those He delivers.
Expanding on that final promise, Eckhardt explained that the word “bountiful” conveys generosity, abundance, surplus and the image of a plentiful harvest. Rather than merely supplying enough to survive, he said God’s nature is to bless His people generously in every area of life.

According to Eckhardt, believers often struggle to embrace that reality because many have developed a mindset shaped by poverty, fear or scarcity. He encouraged Christians to renew their thinking according to Scripture, emphasizing that God is not characterized by lack but by abundance. Citing Isaiah 54, he urged listeners to enlarge their expectations and make room for the blessings God desires to pour into their lives.
Throughout the message, Eckhardt described God’s generosity as extending far beyond finances. He said the Lord gives bountifully in wisdom, favor, mercy, grace, healing, promotion, relationships and spiritual growth. Because generosity reflects God’s character, he encouraged believers to mirror that same heart by becoming generous in their giving, worship, praise and love toward others.
Eckhardt also shared his personal testimony of growing up with very little materially before coming to faith in Christ. He recalled living in poverty and relying on public transportation, but said that learning biblical principles of generosity and trusting God transformed both his mindset and his life. He presented that journey as evidence that God’s favor is available to those who faithfully walk with Him.
Closing the message, Eckhardt prayed that God would bring believers “out of prison,” surround them with righteous influences and deal bountifully with them as they enter August. He described this as part of God’s “repayment system,” expressing confidence that the Lord desires His people to experience His generosity in fresh ways during the coming season.
While prophetic words should always be weighed against Scripture (1 Thess. 5:20-21), Eckhardt’s central message points believers back to a timeless biblical truth: God delights in blessing His children. As August begins, his challenge is for Christians to leave behind a mindset of scarcity and embrace renewed confidence in God’s generosity, faithfulness and abundant provision.
