Ker’Sean Ramey praised God and thanked his fellow death row inmates moments before Texas executed him Wednesday for the brutal murders of three people.
Ramey, 41, received a lethal injection at the state penitentiary in Huntsville and was pronounced dead at 6:34 p.m. CDT, according to Fox News, citing The Associated Press.
A prison chaplain placed his hand on Ramey’s shoulder and led him in a brief prayer before the warden invited him to deliver his final statement.
“To the brothers on Texas death row that grew up with me … I greatly appreciate you,” Ramey said.
Ramey was convicted of killing Samuel Roberts, 24, Tiffani Peacock, 18, and Celso Lopez, 38, during an August 2005 home invasion in Edna, Texas. Prosecutors said Ramey and accomplice LeJames Norman entered the home searching for cocaine. After finding none, they murdered the three victims. Court records state that Ramey shot them again to ensure they were dead.
Norman was executed Sept. 16. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected Ramey’s final appeal hours before his execution.

Ramey’s final words do not erase his crimes or the devastation inflicted upon three families. Scripture teaches that every person will answer for his actions. Yet earthly accountability does not place anyone beyond the reach of Christ’s salvation.
Prison evangelist and deliverance minister Don Dickerman has spent decades ministering to murderers, death row inmates and other hardened criminals. His experiences convinced him that Jesus can reach even those responsible for unspeakable evil.
“No one … not a serial killer on death row—is too far gone for Jesus to reach them and set them free,” Dickerman said, as previously reported by Charisma.
Dickerman once wrote to David Berkowitz, the notorious “Son of Sam” killer, telling him, “David, God still loves you, and Jesus can save you.” Berkowitz initially threatened to kill him, but when the two met 10 years later, Berkowitz told Dickerman he had been born again and declared, “I love Jesus.”
Justice and mercy are not opposites. Murderers must answer for murder, thieves for theft and liars for their lies. But repentance and salvation remain open to everyone who turns to Jesus Christ.
Every murderer, thief and liar has sinned, and every sinner’s price was paid by the precious blood of Jesus on the cross. No prison wall, death sentence or record of wickedness can prevent the Messiah from saving a truly repentant heart.
