An unexplained pattern spanning several miles beneath the Atlantic Ocean has renewed interest in the possibility that entire civilizations remain hidden underwater.

Scott C. Waring, a self-described UFO researcher, located the formation while exploring data from Seabed 2030, an international project mapping the world’s ocean floor. The unusual site lies near Cuba and Haiti, not far from the region commonly known as the Bermuda Triangle.

According to the Daily Mail, the images reveal intersecting lines and apparent geometric shapes across an area estimated to measure seven or eight miles long and about three miles wide.

“This map is excellent. You can see a huge complex, a huge city. This is just amazing,” Waring said.

Although Waring frequently investigates claims involving extraterrestrial activity, he believes humans likely created the possible structures.

“I’m leaning toward human because this looks kind of ancient in its design,” Waring said.

He compared the formation to Atlantis and proposed that people may have constructed the settlement on a coral island before an earthquake sent it beneath the waves.

Scientists have not explored the site or confirmed that any buildings exist there. Seafloor maps often combine sonar readings, satellite measurements and computer-generated data. That process can create lines or grids that resemble artificial structures.

Determining what lies below would require closer sonar scans, underwater photographs and physical evidence such as carved stone, pottery or tools.

For now, the formation remains an unverified mystery hidden beneath the Atlantic. Yet oceans cover ruins, landscapes and histories humanity has barely begun to examine. If this formation proves to be the work of an ancient people, it begs the question: What did the world truly look like before the flood?
