A former Pentagon UFO investigator is bringing allegations of recovered spacecraft, nonhuman bodies and unsettling encounters inside his own home into the public spotlight.
Jay Stratton, the former director of the Pentagon’s Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, discussed his memoir, Out of the Shadows, in an interview with People. His account raises questions about government secrecy, national security and how believers should respond to extraordinary claims.
“We’re not the only intelligent life in the universe,” Stratton told People.
According to People, Stratton spent 16 years investigating unidentified anomalous phenomena, commonly called UAPs. He alleges a decades-long effort to conceal recovered craft and information about nonhuman intelligence.
Stratton claims that military contractors hold recovered spacecraft and that retrieval operations involved nonhuman bodies.
“We don’t know the intentions of the non-human intelligent life that’s here,” he said.

Then comes the part of Stratton’s account that moves the discussion from classified programs to his family’s doorstep.
Starting around 2010, Stratton said, his wife and sons experienced glowing, multicolored orbs and dark figures at their home, People reported. He believes the activity was connected to his investigations and said it largely stopped after his retirement in 2022.
“As I began investigating deeper and deeper into non-human intelligent life, they started paying closer attention to me and my family,” Stratton said. “It became a part of our life. Once I retired…it pretty much stopped, which is very telling.”
The apostle John commands believers in Scripture to “…not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God” (1 John 4:1, MEV). Jesus likewise warned that deception would become so convincing that false signs and wonders could lead people astray (Matt. 24:24).
That makes discernment critical as conversations about UAPs, nonhuman intelligence and government disclosure move from the fringes into the mainstream. In an age hungry for disclosure, Christians must remain anchored in the One true Living God.
