5 Types of UFO Encounters: Former Green Beret Warns Christians About What Comes Next

UFOs are no longer relegated to grainy photographs, conspiracy conventions and science fiction. The phenomenon has entered mainstream culture, government hearings and some of the largest podcasts in the world.

But former Green Beret Paul Bock says Christians are missing the bigger story.

Bock, author of the new book “The Disclosure Agenda: A Green Beret’s Warning to the Church About UFOs, Aliens, and Their Emerging Religion,” recently joined Dinesh D’Souza to explain the five kinds of UFO encounters — and why the final category crosses directly into dangerous spiritual territory.

1. Close Encounters of the First Kind: Seeing Something

The first kind is the encounter most people associate with UFOs: witnessing an unidentified object or phenomenon in the sky.

“First kind consists of visual sightings of an unidentified flying object,” Bock said.

There is no contact and no physical evidence required. Someone simply witnesses something they cannot identify. It is observation from a distance — the beginning of the progression.

2. Close Encounters of the Second Kind: Physical Evidence

The second kind moves beyond simply seeing something. The phenomenon allegedly leaves evidence behind.

Bock described these encounters as involving “some physical traces present like impressions on the ground or scorched vegetation.”

Now the experience is no longer confined to what someone says they saw. Something has interacted with the physical environment, leaving a mark.

3. Close Encounters of the Third Kind: Seeing the Entities

This is where the phenomenon takes a darker and more personal turn.

The third kind involves witnessing what Bock described as “the occupants or pilots” of an extraterrestrial craft.

The encounter is no longer merely about mysterious technology flying overhead. Human beings are seeing the intelligence operating behind it.

4. Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind: Taken Aboard

The fourth kind goes even further.

“A human being is brought on board an ET craft,” Bock explained.

These are the encounters commonly associated with alien abduction accounts. The intelligence is no longer simply observed. Direct interaction has taken place between the human being, the phenomenon and the entities associated with it.

5. Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind: Inviting Contact

This is where Bock’s warning to the church becomes impossible to ignore.

The fifth kind reverses the entire relationship. Instead of the phenomenon approaching humanity, human beings deliberately attempt to contact it.

Bock described it as “proactive human-initiated communication with extraterrestrial beings.”

He points specifically to prominent UFO researcher Steven Greer and his CE-5 protocol, which teaches people methods intended to initiate contact with nonhuman intelligence.

Bock sees something very different beneath the futuristic language.

“As you study this method and other methods within the space, they’re all very occultic,” he said.

According to Bock, these techniques mirror spiritual practices that Scripture explicitly forbids. The packaging has changed. Instead of séances, spirits and ancient gods, modern seekers hear about consciousness, extraterrestrials and nonhuman intelligence.

But Bock’s warning is chillingly simple:

“You poke your head into a world that is very real that we are forbidden from doing,” he said. “Things will answer you back.”

That is the heart of “The Disclosure Agenda.” Bock is not asking the church to laugh at UFOs or obsess over flying saucers. He is warning us to recognize the spiritual worldview being constructed around them.

Because the most important question may not be what is flying through our skies.

It may be what humanity is being encouraged to invite in.
