As conversations surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena continue to gain traction, one researcher is reviving an old question with new urgency: What does the Vatican know?
During a recent interview with researcher and filmmaker L.A. Marzulli, author Leo Zagami argued that the Roman Catholic Church has maintained a longstanding interest in UFO phenomena, suggesting its involvement stretches back decades.
Marzulli opened the conversation by stating that UFOs represent “the coming great deception,” arguing that public interest in the phenomenon is only increasing.

“My wide craft above the cities of the world,” Marzulli said, describing what he believes would become the ultimate game-changing moment. He also speculated that a nuclear event could serve as the trigger for such a scenario.
Zagami pointed to Pope Leo XIV’s connection to astronomy through the Vatican Observatory and claimed the Vatican has examined theological questions surrounding extraterrestrial life for decades. He further shared that Vatican officials possessed knowledge connected to the reported 1933 Magenta UFO crash in Italy and have maintained an interest in UFO investigations ever since.
Marzulli later shifted the conversation toward theology, asking whether the phenomenon should be understood as extraterrestrial or spiritual in nature.
“For me,” Marzulli said, “they’re fallen angels.”
While Zagami acknowledged the possibility of intelligent life beyond Earth, he agreed that the ultimate issue is not simply whether other beings exist, but whether they align with good or evil.
As reports of unexplained aerial phenomena continue making headlines worldwide, the conversation raises questions many Christians are beginning to ask: If greater disclosure does come, how should believers respond?
