President Donald Trump announced Friday that the Board of Peace has reached what he described as a “historic agreement” calling for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza.
According to remarks highlighted during Fox News’ Special Report with Bret Baier, Trump shared the announcement in a post on Truth Social, calling the agreement a “monumental step toward lasting peace and security.”
“The Board of Peace reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza,” Trump wrote. He added that the agreement is “a critical step toward Gaza being governed” while working with the Board of Peace “to help the Palestinian people.”

At the time of Trump’s announcement, few additional details had been made public regarding how the agreement would be implemented or whether Hamas had formally agreed to its terms.
“If, in fact, this is true, this is monumental and hugely significant for this administration,” radio host Chris Ryan said during Fox News’ panel discussion. He cautioned, however, that it was not yet clear “if Hamas is signed on to” the agreement, noting that previous public statements involving the terrorist organization have not always reflected events on the ground.
Ryan added that a verified agreement to disarm Hamas would represent a major development after decades of conflict in the region.
The reported agreement comes as the Trump administration continues to pursue efforts aimed at ending the war in Gaza while broader tensions remain high across the Middle East.
As of publication, neither Hamas nor other parties involved had publicly confirmed the reported agreement, and additional information about its provisions had not yet been released.
