Bestselling author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza believes the ground beneath the Middle East continues to tell the story of Scripture.
In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, D’Souza discussed his upcoming book, The Stones Cry Out, which explores decades of archaeological discoveries connected to the people, places and events recorded in the Bible. The project grew out of a 2022 trip to Israel that inspired what became three years of research into biblical archaeology.
D’Souza said the evidence he uncovered points to the historical reliability of Scripture.
“Archaeology stunningly supports the historicity of the Bible,” D’Souza told Fox News Digital.
Among the discoveries he highlights is the Pilate Stone, unearthed in 1961, which bears the name of Pontius Pilate and identifies him as the “prefect of Judea.”

“Boom. Not only does it confirm the existence of Pilate, but the Bible writers had his title exactly correct,” D’Souza said. “Later, the title was evidently changed to procurator — but in Jesus’ own time, Pontius Pilate had the title that the Bible ascribes to him.”
D’Souza also points to the discovery of an inscription referring to “Balaam, son of Beor,” as well as the ossuary of Caiaphas, the high priest who presided over Jesus’ trial.
“And the amazing thing is, we not only have an inscription or reference to him, we have his actual bones,” D’Souza said of Caiaphas. “Archaeology provides this kind of stunning corroboration for the people, the places and the events in the Bible.”
According to D’Souza, The Stones Cry Out was written to make a fascinating field more accessible to everyday readers.
“It’s an attempt to bridge the gap between the academic world and the public,” he said. “It’s a complex field, but it’s very rewarding.”
D’Souza also encouraged believers to experience the land of the Bible firsthand whenever possible, calling Israel “our spiritual homeland.”
“All of the Old Testament and Jesus’ own ministry takes place in the land of Israel,” he said. “You get a much deeper understanding by being there.”
