A renewed push for UFO disclosure has reignited interest in ancient religious texts, with U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna drawing a direct connection between extraterrestrial claims and the Book of Enoch.
Luna recently told the public to “Read the book of Enoch” and pointed to historical references as part of a broader effort to understand what she described as non-human intelligence. In a past interview, she said, “Have I seen a spaceship personally? No. Have I seen evidence of this? Yes. Have I seen photo documentation of aircraft that I believe were not made by mankind? Yes.” She added, “Is there multiple events that go back to, I would argue, maybe even before the time of Christ, that have been documented in text? Yes.”

As reported, Luna also connected these ideas to what she called “interdimensional beings,” arguing that such entities may have been recorded in ancient writings but misunderstood as angels.
The book of Enoch, particularly its first section known as the “book of the Watchers,” describes how fallen angels descended to Earth, took human wives and produced the Nephilim, a race of giants referenced in Genesis 6:1–4. This account echoes biblical passages such as Genesis 6:4, which states, “There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward…” and is further reinforced in Jude 1:6, which speaks of angels who “did not keep their first domain,” and 2 Peter 2:4, which describes angels who sinned and were cast into chains of darkness.
Not to mention all the battles David and his mighty men fought against giants, recorded in the Old Testament.
These scriptural references affirm that supernatural rebellion occurred before the flood, aligning with key elements found in Enoch 1.
However, mature Christians recognize that the book of Enoch is apocryphal and not part of the canon of Scripture. It must be approached as a historical text, not as the authoritative Word of God.
While portions of Enoch 1 parallel biblical truth, later writings such as Enoch 2 and 3 diverge significantly from Scripture and introduce teachings that do not align with the Bible. Elevating these texts to the level of Scripture creates confusion and opens the door to deception, particularly for young believers who are still being grounded in the Word.
The growing conversation around UFOs and non-human entities has led some to revisit ancient accounts, but discernment remains essential. Scripture alone is the standard for truth.
Jesus Himself warned that the last days would mirror conditions before the flood. In Matthew 24:37, He declared, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.” The pre-flood world was marked by corruption, supernatural rebellion and the presence of the Nephilim, realities now being discussed again in the context of modern disclosure.
The resurfacing of these themes is no coincidence. They show us the importance of returning to Scripture as the final authority while examining historical texts with caution. We must remain rooted in the Bible, discerning truth from speculation as conversations about the supernatural intensify.
