There are seasons in the Christian walk when God calls His people to speak boldly. There are other moments when He calls them to remain quiet, protecting what He is cultivating until the appointed time. According to author and prophetic voice Alwyn Uys, many believers may be entering exactly that kind of season.

In a recent YouTube message, Uys shared what he described as an urgent revelation received during prayer, saying he sensed both “an urgency that someone needs to hear this sooner than later” and “an excitement” about what God is preparing to do in the lives of believers.

The message centered on two passages of Scripture: Amos 3:7, which declares that the Lord reveals His plans to His servants before He acts, and Isaiah 43:19, where God proclaims, “Behold, I do a new thing.”

Connecting the two passages, Uys suggested that many Christians have already begun receiving glimpses of what God is preparing for their future.

“There is something that God is birthing in you that He’s about to release through you,” Uys said. “God has been revealing this to you… As He’s been preparing you, you are ready to give birth to this new thing that God wants to do in your life.”

According to Uys, however, excitement must be coupled with wisdom.

He cautioned believers against prematurely sharing every dream, vision or personal revelation they believe God has given them. Instead, he encouraged listeners to prayerfully discern what should remain between themselves and the Lord until the proper time.

“Not everything that God has revealed to you is meant to be declared publicly or to be declared even to those close to you,” Uys said.

To illustrate the point, he compared God’s promises to a newborn child entering the world.

“I saw this infant baby being born,” Uys explained. “The thing that God has revealed to you is like the newborn baby. It is an infant. It is a small thing. It is fragile.”

Just as a newborn requires protection, Uys said a fresh calling, dream or assignment from God may need to be guarded before it is mature enough to withstand criticism or misunderstanding.

He warned that sharing too early can expose a person to discouraging voices that unintentionally undermine faith.

“I know there are some of you listening to this… where you were excited about what God is doing in your life,” Uys said. “The moment you go and you share it with someone… they might even make a comment to shoot down what you have just revealed to them. And you know what that does? It crushes your hope.”

While Scripture encourages believers to seek wise counsel (Prov. 15:22), it also records moments when God instructed His servants to wait before revealing what He had spoken. Throughout the Bible, discernment and timing often proved just as important as the revelation itself.

Uys concluded by encouraging believers to embrace the anticipation of what God is doing while exercising restraint.

“God is genuinely excited about your life,” he said. “It’s time to get excited for what God is about to do in your life. But just because you’re excited… it doesn’t mean that you must share it with every single person out there.”

As we seek the Lord for direction, Uys’ message serves as a reminder that not every promise is meant for immediate public declaration. Sometimes the greatest act of faith is quietly nurturing what God has planted until the season arrives for it to bear fruit.
