When You Can’t Reach the Promise

(PART 1)

When God’s promises are delayed or die, our hearts can lose hope. Self-pity then tempts us to mistrust God. “But God” is faithful; He will fulfill His Word.

READ: Gen. 37:3-28; Gen. 45:3-13; Ps. 145:14-21; Prov. 13:12; 2 Cor. 1:20-22; Heb. 10:35-39.
HEART ISSUE: Have you lost hope in God’s promises to you? Are you caught in self-pity or moving forward with God?
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, forgive me for losing hope. Today I choose to trust You and to use my gifts for Your kingdom. Amen.

(PART 2)

“Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb. 11:6). Without hope, faith lacks direction and strength. To persevere in Christ, we must learn to renew our hope.


READ: Ps. 33:20-22; Lam. 3:21-26; Rom. 4:13-24; Rom. 5:1-5; Ps. 73:26; Heb. 11:1-6.
HEART ISSUE: What causes you to lose hope? Does your life reflect mostly faith or mostly fear?
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, show me where I need renewed hope to exercise greater faith. Amen.
