In an exclusive interview with Charisma Media, online pastor and content creator, Kap Chatfield, discussed how God miraculously transformed his life from atheism into one completely empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Chatfield told Charisma that after becoming a Christian, God gave him direction on the way he should go in life through a dream. Having studied film in Florida, he expected God to point him toward Los Angeles, New York or Miami. However, God had other plans.
“He spoke to me in a dream after I graduated to move to Omaha, Nebraska,” Chatfield says. “I graduated film school and then I had also gone through a four month discipleship program through Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale.”
During this time, the pastor of the church that Chatfield works with now came down from Nebraska. The two connected and stayed in touch, and soon after, Chatfield found himself moving to Nebraska to do videography for the church. Knowing that he was moving across the country for an unpaid position, Chatfield began wondering how he would be able to take care of himself. After reading through Haggai and seeing God speak to him prophetically through a dream, Chatfield knew God was asking him to literally get out of the boat of his comfort zone.
“As I woke up, the Holy Spirit says to me in this moment…’Kap, do you want a career, or do you want your calling?’ And I knew the answer to that was like, I want my calling. I’m willing, Lord, to go wherever you want me to go. I don’t care if there’s a paycheck attached to it or not.”
Once he moved to Nebraska, Chatfield finally received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He also had an incredible vision of himself with the Lord.
“I glanced at the Bible, and I glanced at the verse where it says that we are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms. As as I look at that verse, I’m taken into an open vision,” says Chatfield. “I see I’m in outer space, and I’m at a banquet table. And the banquet table literally goes infinity in both directions. I can’t see the end of the table. There’s stars and there’s planets, and it’s like this cosmic scene. And this banquet table is filled with the most amazing food, gold utensils, cups, plates, things like that…and I look to my right and Jesus is sitting at my right hand. And I freak out. Literally, when I see him, my first thought is, ‘I shouldn’t be sitting next to you. I should be serving; I should have a towel on my wrist.'”
It was then that Chatfield says that Jesus noticed the panic inside of his eyes, and reassured him that he was in the correct place. He then says God the Father looked at both he and Jesus multiple times and said that he didn’t see any difference between them, solidifying the reality that Christians are redeemed by Christ’s blood.
“I came out of the open vision, and the Holy Spirit absolutely ambushed me,” Chatfield says.
Chatfield says he fell to the ground and began crying and laughing, and he began to declare his freedom in Christ.
“And that was the moment when I discovered the power of the Holy Spirit,” he says. “I started praying in tongues, I got everything in that moment.”
