Bill Wiese had an out-of-body experience where God showed him the excruciating horrors of hell. After being a Christian for 28 years, this scenario is far from what he would have ever thought would happen.
“It’s far more horrendous than anybody can imagine, but I saw prison cells. I saw a large, raging pit of fire. I saw demons tormenting people,” Wiese says.
Wiese’s experience was filled with dark, deplorable sounds and sights. The people there howled for help and serpents and maggots roamed free about those trapped in hell.
“There’s different levels of torment and degrees of punishment,” Wiese says. “You have no physical strength in your body whatsoever, completely void of strength. You need to sleep; you never get to sleep or even have a moment’s rest. You’re terrified from all this fear and demons and torment and screaming.”
Wiese also notes that the darkness of hell is intolerable, and every part of it is covered in a state of hopelessness.
“That’s why this message is so important is to wake people up to realize what they’re facing if they don’t repent and turn to Jesus Christ,” Wiese says. “They will end up in hell for all eternity and it’s not temporary. It’s eternal, and so it’s a serious message.”

The few moments Wiese experienced of hell was so traumatic that he almost died from it when he came back from the vision.
“I screamed out, ‘pray for me, pray for me, the Lord has taken me to hell,’” Wiese says.
In that moment, Wiese’s wife prayed for him, that God would remove the horror he was experiencing. He says if it wasn’t for this, he would have died from the terror he had just experienced.
While most people can’t possibly fathom the idea of what it’s like to experience this kind of agony, the reality is many are already there, and more will end up in hell.
Matthew 13:41-42 tells of the fate of those who reject the gospel of Jesus Christ: “The Son of Man shall send out His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who do evil, and will throw them into a fiery furnace. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
The Bible tells of the same wailing, the same pain that Wiese described in his own testimony. If you do not believe in hell, perhaps this is the moment to reconsider its reality, and how accepting or deny Christ really will make a difference in your eternal destination.
