Something unusual is unfolding in the heavens, and Amanda Grace believes the church should be paying attention.
As millions prepare to witness the Aug. 12 total solar eclipse, Grace is pointing to a convergence of celestial events, earthquakes and global upheaval that she believes carries a sobering prophetic message.
“There are birth pangs happening within the earth and signs happening in the heavenlies right now that are aligning and coming together,” Grace said during an Aug. 11 broadcast.
At the center of Grace’s message is a pattern she sees connecting earthquakes and eclipses.
She pointed back to April 2024, when a magnitude 4.8 earthquake rattled parts of the East Coast just days before the April 8 total solar eclipse. Now, Grace says she sees the pattern repeating, pointing to a magnitude 7.4 earthquake she discussed in Colombia shortly before the Aug. 12 eclipse.
But Grace believes the Colombia connection goes deeper.
She highlighted the earthquake’s reported location roughly 250 miles west of Bogotá, connecting the number 250 with both America’s 250th anniversary and Numbers 16, where 250 leaders joined Korah’s rebellion against Moses.
In that biblical account, the rebellion ended dramatically when the ground split beneath the rebels.
Grace believes the imagery serves as a warning to a generation increasingly convinced it can construct a “better way” apart from God.
Yet the eclipse itself is only one component of what caught her attention.

Grace also highlighted a six-planet alignment involving Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune appearing across the predawn sky around Aug. 12. Combined with the eclipse, she believes the celestial activity should cause Christians to remember Christ’s words in Luke 21 concerning “signs in the sun and moon and stars.”
Her attention is already turning toward another extraordinary celestial event.
On Aug. 2, 2027, another total solar eclipse will sweep across portions of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Grace particularly emphasized that its path will cross Mecca, Islam’s holiest city. She believes the event could become spiritually significant and even mark an opportunity for the gospel to advance in the Muslim world.
“This is an opportunity right now for the greatest advance of the gospel of Jesus Christ,” Grace said.
This message to the church is difficult to miss: This is not the hour for spiritual sleepwalking.
Jesus warned that the last days would be accompanied by upheaval among nations and signs in the heavens. Grace believes Christians should respond not with fear, but with discernment, prayer and an unwavering commitment to the Word of God.
