In a recent development that echoes a prophecy spoken years ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly survived an attempted assassination on May 20, 2025, when his helicopter came under fire from Ukrainian drones during a surprise visit to the war-torn Kursk region.
Russian military commander Yury Dashkin claimed the aircraft was “at the epicenter” of a major drone strike. While the Kremlin has not released footage or physical evidence, it has acknowledged the incident occurred, prompting Russia’s largest retaliatory drone and missile barrage to date.

The attack has stirred fresh interest in a prophetic word delivered by the late Kim Clement, who in 2014 spoke directly to the issue of Putin’s rise and future downfall. Clement declared, “Putin, I speak to you now—King Putin, you call yourself… do you really believe that I raised up a king in the ’80s by the name of Ronald Reagan to pull down a curtain and to destroy a war that divided for nothing?”
Clement continued, stating with bold clarity: “Get out of My way, says the Lord… I will put My hook in your nose and My bridle in your lips and I will turn your back by the way you came… I have sent, says the Lord, a spirit upon you that shall cause you to return to your land… and I will cause you to fall by the sword in your own land.”
The headlines seem to align with Clement’s powerful warnings. And yet, skepticism remains.
Some observers suggest the Kremlin may be manipulating the narrative to bolster domestic support or portray Putin as a wartime hero under divine-level pressure. As with past incidents, like the 2023 drone strike blamed on Ukraine but never verified, doubt lingers.
Still, the parallels are hard to ignore. Could the prophet’s words be unfolding before our eyes?

As with all prophecy, Scripture exhorts us to “test the spirits” (1 John 4:1) and to discern the times, just as the sons of Issachar did (1 Chron. 12:32).
Whether this moment is a fulfillment or a foreshadowing of things to come in Putin’s future, one thing is clear: the spiritual battle behind global headlines is real, and the need for discernment has never been greater.
