The final deception could arrive with Christian language, promises of peace and a leader millions are ready to trust.

Pastor Mark Biltz warns that the Antichrist’s greatest advantage may be how convincingly he appears to belong.

In an interview with Bob DuVall, Biltz identified religious deception, expanding surveillance and prophetic calendar patterns as developments Christians should watch. He urged Christians to examine a leader’s obedience to God before mistaking influence, prosperity or supernatural activity for divine approval.

1. A Leader Who Professes Christianity

Biltz challenges the expectation that the Antichrist will emerge as an obvious enemy of Christianity.

“The Antichrist is really going to be a professing Christian,” he said. “I truly believe that.”

Pointing to the tares among the wheat and John’s warnings about antichrists arising from within, Biltz argues that religious familiarity could become a weapon.

“There’s a great deception that’s coming, Bob,” he said. “And the devil already has the rest of the world. He doesn’t need to deceive them. He needs to deceive Christians.”

2. Miracles Without Obedience

A platform filled with supernatural activity can still conceal spiritual rebellion.

Biltz points to Jesus’ warning about people who prophesy, cast out demons and perform miracles in His name yet practice lawlessness. He connects that warning with the lawless one described in Thessalonians.

“Being a professing Christian doesn’t make you holy,” Biltz said.

He urged Christians to examine whether a leader submits to God’s authority, rather than accepting spiritual credentials at face value.

“What you have to question is do they obey God and are they humble?” he said.

3. Wealth, Fame and Military Power

Biltz expects the final ruler to possess widespread recognition, independent wealth and extraordinary political authority.

“I think the Antichrist is going to have to be famous or very well-known,” he said.

He also anticipates someone “very extremely wealthy, so he’s not beholden to lobbyists or to money,” with authority to command the world’s strongest military.

Biltz points to Solomon’s disobedience and idolatry as evidence that wisdom and riches do not establish righteousness.

“People think just because I’m prosperous, then I must be godly,” he said. “Not so.”

4. An Expanding Surveillance System

Artificial intelligence, surveillance cameras and increasingly capable drones could supply tools for a future Antichrist system, Biltz warned.

He expressed concern about technology’s expanding ability to monitor people and exercise control.

“I do believe what’s happening with AI right now, with all the flock cameras that are going around, with all of the drones … that everything is definitely being set up with the amount of surveillance that is going on right now,” he said.

5. Hatred of Israel and Division in the Church

Biltz connects rising antisemitism with spiritual opposition that could divide churches over their relationship with Israel.

Using Ruth and Orpah as an analogy, he describes a coming separation between Christians who stand with Israel and those who turn away.

“Within the church is coming a big division between the Ruth church and the Orpah church, and that’s going to be the coming battle in the last days,” he said.

He rejects replacement theology and emphasizes the biblical picture of Gentile Christians being grafted in. He also urges churches to actively support the Jewish people rather than remain on the sidelines.

6. Heavenly Signs on Biblical Feast Days

Biltz interprets eclipses coinciding with biblical festivals as significant markers on God’s calendar, drawing from Genesis 1:14 and Leviticus 23.

“Not every eclipse is important,” he said. “It’s the ones that fall on His holy days.”

He connects the 2014-15 blood moon tetrad with a broader pattern involving Israel’s wars and history. Those prophetic connections reflect his interpretation of the astronomical events.

Biltz urged Christians to understand the biblical appointed times when examining potential heavenly signs.

7. A Possible Tribulation Window in 2029

Biltz believes Daniel’s remaining prophetic week must begin at the opening of a seven-year Shemitah cycle.

“It can’t begin any random day, random month, random year,” he said.

Under his proposed chronology, the next possible opening arrives in fall 2029, going into 2030. He argues that another seven-year interval would follow if the Tribulation does not begin then.

Biltz identifies a possible window under his interpretation. He does not predict that the Tribulation will certainly begin in 2029.

8. A Counterfeit Rescue From Judgment

Biltz places Revelation 11’s two witnesses in the Tribulation’s first half. He speculates that the Antichrist and false prophet will subsequently impersonate God’s witnesses and portray the actual witnesses as evil.

“I believe they’re going to claim that they are the two witnesses who just killed the Antichrist and the false prophet,” he said.

In that proposed scenario, the deceivers offer themselves as the answer to global suffering and promise peace.

“This is why the deception is going to be so strong,” he said.

Biltz urged Christians to repent and surrender to God.

“So many people want to be saved from the consequence of their sin, but not the sin itself,” he said.

“Our hope is in the Lord. It’s not in this world,” Biltz said.
