A devastating tragedy may have taken Pastor Robert Guanco from this earth, but it could not erase the spiritual imprint he left behind.

Weeks after the 41-year-old pastor was killed in a shocking accident at Big Church Festival in England, his widow and fellow believers are speaking out about the man behind the tragedy and the testimony of faith he carried until the very end.

According to BBC News, Guanco’s widow, Isaeli, told mourners at his funeral that her husband had “never wasted a minute of his life.” She also shared how overwhelmed she has been by the tremendous support poured out on their family since his death.

And those who knew Guanco made one thing abundantly clear: He wasn’t simply a pastor standing behind a pulpit.

“Pastor Robert was more than a bible study leader, mentor, teacher and close friend,” one person said, calling him a “beautiful soul who touched our lives profoundly.”

Guanco pastored at Jesus the Living Water Church in Eastbourne and was affectionately known as “Kuya Robert” or “Big Brother Robert” in Filipino.

“He set a beautiful example, never took things for granted and always made people feel valued,” a funeral attendee said..

Now, the body of Christ is rallying around the family he left behind. BBC News reported that a fundraiser for Guanco’s widow and daughter has already brought in nearly £242,000.

None of us knows how many days we will be given. Guanco’s loved ones say he didn’t waste his. He served, loved, mentored and pointed people toward Jesus. The fruit of his faithfulness is being seen in the countless lives rising up to say that “Kuya Robert” will never be forgotten.
