Political leaders, dignitaries and loved ones gathered at Washington National Cathedral to honor the life of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, including President Donald Trump and the Rev. Franklin Graham.
President Donald Trump delivered a heartfelt tribute during the memorial service, remembering Graham as “a true American original” whose life was marked by unwavering patriotism, decades of public service and an enduring love for the United States.
According to NBC News, Trump reflected on their unlikely journey from rivals during the 2016 Republican presidential primary to close friends and trusted allies, praising Graham’s influence on national security and foreign policy as well as his loyalty and larger-than-life personality.

Yet amid the tributes from presidents, lawmakers and world leaders, evangelist Franklin Graham directed attention to something eternal.
Hours before the service, Graham took to X with a simple but powerful request.
“Pray for Senator Lindsey Graham’s sister, Senator @DarlineGrahamSC, and the family today as his memorial service is held at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. I have been asked to read a passage from the Word of God at the service and am honored to do so,” Graham wrote.

Scripture reminds believers that “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever” (Isa. 40:8, MEV). While public figures are often remembered for their achievements, we must remember that our ultimate hope and permanence are found in Christ alone.
