Pastor Mike Stone shared the grievous announcement on social media that his daughter, Sarah, has passed away.
On Nov. 3, Stone shared the post that included Sarah’s photo and the announcement.
“With heavy hearts upheld by our Christian faith, we want to share that our precious Sarah has gone to be with the Lord. Though we grieve, our hope in Jesus, gives us absolute confidence in her eternal state. Sarah’s faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ means she has now passed from the land of the dying into the land of the living.
Converted at age 6, Christ was her hope in this life. He is now her hope in death.
We will celebrate her life and legacy in a special worship service on Sunday afternoon, November 8th, at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Blackshear. A special video commemorating her life and music ministry will begin at 2:30p with the main service beginning at 3 p.
Stone also included a Bible verse from Job in the announcement, which read, “The Lord gave. The Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. (Job 1:21)
Journalist and author Megan Basham replied to the post, writing, “So very sorry for your loss and I’m praying for the Lord’s comfort in your suffering. What a beautiful girl she was inside and out.”
Beth Moore also commented, stating, “May the same arms thrown open to welcome your beloved Sarah in heaven extend earthward to comfort all of you who grieve. I’m so sorry for all the pain and suffering your family has endured. May Jesus be obvious in his nearness.”
As Charisma previously reported, Sarah had been battling multiple serious health conditions before entering hospice care in August. At the time, Stone called on believers to pray for his daughter while expressing his family’s confidence in Christ and the resurrection.

Yet even amid her suffering, Sarah had shared a powerful perspective on what it means to experience a miracle.
“Maybe your miracle isn’t a healing. Maybe your miracle is God showing you how to have faith, contentment, and joy in spite of your circumstances. That my friend, is even better than a healing,” Sarah wrote in a previous social media post shared by her father.
Now, as the Stone family prepares to celebrate Sarah’s life, those words carry an even deeper significance. During this time, pray for Sarah’s family and friends.
