From Pastor Mike Stone's X: https://x.com/PastorMikeStone/status/2086198468788293876

One pastor just shared the most heartbreaking news anyone could go through. Now, it is time for the church to pray.

In a post on X, pastor and former SBC Executive Committee member and chairman Mike Stone of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Blackshear, Georgia, gave the update that his daughter, Sarah, has been placed on hospice after dealing with an array of illnesses. Stone wrote:

After a courageous battle with numerous physical illnesses, our precious Sarah has entered Hospice Care in our home. Our entire family faces the days ahead with faith in Christ, confidence in the resurrection, and the blessed assurance that our Sovereign God does all things well.

Commenting on his post, Living Proof Ministries leader Beth Moore wrote, “Oh my goodness, Mike. My prayers are with you all.”

Pastor Josh Howerton of Lakepointe Church in Texas commented, “I am praying for you on my way home tonight. God be with you and precious Sarah.”

Journalist and author Megan Basham also stated, “Oh Mike I did not know about this. I am so very, very sorry and praying now.”

Stone also shared a post which stated:

I pray today for a physical healing. But God has already given me a daughter with a sound and robust theology.

In a challenging hour, that is His grace upon grace.

The post included a statement from Sarah’s social media from last year which said:

Maybe your miracle isn’t a healing. Maybe your miracle is God showing you how to have faith, contentment, and joy in spite of your circumstances. That my friend, is even better than a healing.

According to ChurchLeaders, Stone’s wife, Andrea, publicly shared the news this year that Sarah “…is weak and breathing is not easy due to her neuromuscular weakness and POTS.”

Now is the time for the body of Christ to surround Sarah and the entire Stone family in prayer.

Let us pray boldly for Sarah’s physical healing, asking the Lord to strengthen her body, ease her breathing and bring supernatural peace into the Stone home. Let us pray for Mike, Andrea and every member of their family as they walk through circumstances no parent or loved one ever wants to face.

Pray for healing. Pray for strength. Pray for peace that surpasses all understanding. Pray that the presence of Jesus would fill every room of the Stone home and that this family would sense the prayers of believers standing with them.

And above all, pray that in these difficult days, Sarah and her family would continue to be held closely by the One who promises never to leave nor forsake His children.
