Vice President JD Vance is getting candid about his faith and what trusting in Jesus looks like for his high-profile political life.

In a recent post by Catholics for Catholics, Vance described in a video interview with Bishop Robert Barron how praying the rosary and trusting in Jesus have been essential for his faith journey.

“In the morning, I will try to do a decade of the rosary, and then before I go to bed as well,” Vance stated. “And that’s just kind of…do the Alpha, our Father, do the Glory be to the Hail Mary…”

Vance stated that his family prays before dinner and that he is trying to get his children to pray more on their own. Barron also asked if Vance keeps a rosary or a crucifix in his pocket as a reminder.

“The ‘Jesus I trust in You’ I probably say that a dozen times a day,” Vance said.

As Charisma previously reported, Vance has consistently pointed back to his Christian faith as the foundation of both his personal life and public service. He has also defended the importance of religious freedom, emphasizing that faith was never meant to be confined to the walls of a church but lived boldly in every sphere of society. His willingness to speak openly about prayer, trusting Jesus and depending on God stands in sharp contrast to a culture that often encourages believers to keep their faith private.

In a world filled with uncertainty and constant noise, perhaps the greatest challenge for believers isn’t simply to profess faith—but to cultivate the kind of steadfast trust that remains anchored in Jesus no matter what lies ahead.

  1. “Hail Mary, Mother of God…” Mary can be the mother of Jesus, but she cannot be the mother of God. Repeating this is blaspheming God.
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” —John 8:58
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” —John 1:1–5
He is the Word of Yahweh. He is God. By the Word, all things were made, and He is the great “I AM.”
Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”
And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” —Exodus 3:13–14

Stop blaspheming God in the morning and evening—10 times, 50 times, and so on.
