An unexpected addition is coming to one of the busiest airports in the United States: foot-washing stations designed to accommodate Islamic prayer rituals.
Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is set to install specialized washing stations inside bathrooms in Terminal D, according to Fox News. The project will place the low-level basins in existing men’s and women’s restrooms, giving Muslim travelers a designated place to perform the ritual cleansing known as Wudu before prayer.
And the price tag is raising eyebrows.
According to documents cited by Fox News, the project is being funded privately and is expected to cost approximately $300,000.
The reported quoted conservative commentator and activist, Ryan Fournier, who proposed that the decision to add this is to keep the bathroom floors from becoming slippery hazards.

“People washing their feet in standard bathroom sinks creates soaked, slippery floors and breaks the counters. Low-level wudu basins keep the restrooms dry and safe for everyone,” Fournier said on social media.
However, the significance of this story goes beyond airport plumbing.
America’s religious landscape is changing right before our eyes. Practices once largely unfamiliar to the average American are becoming increasingly visible in everyday public life, from community development projects to accommodations inside major transportation hubs.
That reality shouldn’t produce fear in believers. It should produce urgency.
The Great Commission has not changed because the culture has changed. If anything, moments like this should remind the church just how critical it is to know the truth of the gospel, stand firmly upon it and refuse to become silent about Jesus in an increasingly religiously pluralistic culture.
The question is not whether other faiths will become more visible in America.
They already are.
The question is whether Christians will be just as bold about making Jesus known.
