Gaza Teacher Threatened With Tongue Being Cut Out for Refusing to Teach Hatred of Jews

A teacher in Gaza says she tried to stand between children and hatred. What she allegedly received in return was a threat to have her tongue cut out.

The 40-year-old Palestinian geography teacher, who has worked for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East for 15 years, told the New York Post that she challenged fellow educators over what she described as the indoctrination of Palestinian children against Jews.

Days later, she saysa school administrator confronted her while she washolding scissors.

“We’ll make you wish for death, and if you don’t stop arguing, we will cut your tongue,” the teacher recalled through a translator, according to the Post.

Her name has been withheld due to safety concerns.

Yet the threat itself may not be the most disturbing part of her story.

The teacher claims she watched a sixth-grade history educator blame Jews for Palestinian suffering while portraying Hamas as an answer to historical injustice. Another teacher, she alleges, encouraged young girls to continue Hamas’ struggle against Jews.

“I was really appalled by the ideas being told to those children,” she said.

Now she is warning that what is being poured into Gaza’s children could become the foundation for another Oct. 7.

“They hate the consequences of October 7,” she told the Post. “They hate the war that October 7 brought upon them. But they don’t hate October 7 itself.”

The educator is now calling for curriculum reform and independent oversight of Gaza’s teachers.

“My most important message is that we need to care about who is teaching our kids,” she said.

What is incredibly important about this story is the core premise that wars are not fought only with rockets and weapons. They are also fought over the hearts and minds of the next generation.

And if hatred is taught as truth, the consequences may outlive the war itself.
