5&2 Studios is about to expand beyond the story of The Chosen.
As Amazon grows its lineup of biblically-based content with titles like House of David and The Chosen, the platform is deepening its partnership with Dallas Jenkins and 5&2 Studios to bring the story of Joseph to life.

The drama, which will be called Joseph of Egypt, is set to be written and produced by Craig Wright while Jenkins will act as the executive producer, according to Crosswalk.
The upcoming show’s tagline gives a sneak peak into the storyline: “Betrayed by jealous brothers, Joseph defies all expectations and rises to incredible power in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. But when his past catches up with him, he is confronted with the ultimate test.“
At a previous ChosenCon event in Orlando, Jenkins explained why he felt a depth and responsibility to create this upcoming eight-episode drama series. He pointed out that the story of Joseph and Jacob happened hundreds of years before Moses was given the Ten Commandments, which of course is where the Law came from that Jesus then came to fulfill.
“…in many ways, these stories are the reason that Moses was given the Law, and Moses’s stories are the reason that Jesus came,” said Jenkins. “And so we want that through-line through all of these projects—that even when they’re Old Testament projects, they’re really ultimately Jesus projects.”
This includes telling the backstory of Jacob, Rachel and Leah.
“We’re going to get into the birth of the 12 brothers who were, of course, the forebearers of the 12 tribes of Israel.”

Jenkins is also set to release a live action series on Moses and one on the book of Acts, which will be called The Way of the Chosen.
With Joseph of Egypt, Dallas Jenkins and 5&2 Studios are not just expanding their creative reach—they’re laying the foundation for a sweeping biblical universe that connects the Old and New Testaments with powerful storytelling. By tracing the lineage of faith from Jacob to Jesus, these upcoming projects aim to illuminate God’s redemptive plan across generations, drawing audiences deeper into the unfolding story of Scripture—one series at a time.
