Perhaps one of the most unlikely pairs of all finally emerged.
In a recent interview, Russell Brand and Sean Feucht sat down together to talk about faith in America, take communion and reflect on the goodness of God.
America is inherently a Christian nation, and we shouldn’t be ashamed of that.
One of the topics Brand and Feucht touched on was how America was foundationally built as Christian nation. Just as other countries are predominantly either Islamic, Buddhist or another religion, they expressed how it is perfectly fine for America to have Christianity as its core building block.

“America is a Christian nation. It doesn’t mean that you can’t be of another faith and live here,” Feucht says. “It doesn’t mean that you can’t be a Muslim or a Hindu or a Buddhist or agnostic. But this nation is a Christian nation…we have an opportunity right now, in America, to reshape, redefine and remind this nation [that] God has His hand on us.”
Faith is not about perfection, but about placing God higher than all other things in your life.
Brand and Feucht talked about the necessity of having faith to in all circumstances, trusting that God is bigger than anything faced in the past, present or future.
“The Christ that I need to know has to be more powerful than sex, fame, money, drugs, power, prestige, privilege,” Brand says. “The truth of faith is a state of surrender, and the truth of evangelism appears to be highly active.”
All of us will corrupt the truth of God’s Word at some point.
Brand shares one of his concerns in how he will eventually corrupt the true meaning of Scripture at some point in time because of his own flawed human nature.
“My continue thought is, ‘How am I going to corrupt this perfect Word?’ because that is what I’ll do. Because I know my own brokenness. I know that I, Russell, have a tendency to make things about me,” Brand says.
