Bishop T.D. Jakes filed an affidavit against those who have accused him of sexual abuse, labeling them as “bullies” who wanted to tear down his reputation.
This is in response to Duane and Richard Youngblood’s claims that Jakes tried to assault them years ago. As ChurchLeaders.com notes, Jakes claims it is this legal battle that landed him in the hospital.

“All of this was happening while I found myself helping my wife recover from knee replacement surgery and while helping my brother navigate kidney failure,” the statement reads. “This unwarranted stress brought me to a place of having a health crisis on stage in front of my entire congregation. As a guy who’d had no previous health challenges, this near-death experience was a turning point for me. Enough is enough!”
Further, Jakes writes, “In all my years, I have never initiated a lawsuit against anyone. We filed this lawsuit against individuals who were supposed to be men of God but are clearly not.”
According to the Christian Post, Jakes claims that the entire situation is a “campaign of lies” to try to extort $6 million from him.
“I am repulsed by these defamatory accusations,” Jakes says.
He also stated that the claims he “harbored carnal desires” for Duane and Richard Youngblood are “knowingly and flagrantly false.”
Pray for all parties involved in this situation, and that God’s truth would prevail above all circumstances.
