Apple’s latest privacy commercial has sparked debate after a YouTube creator argued the ad contains imagery that goes far beyond internet tracking.
The video, published by The Truth IS YouTube channel, analyzes Apple’s recent “The Clingers” commercial and claims the company has continued a decades-long pattern of using symbolism that some Christians associate with occult or demonic themes. While many of the conclusions are matters of interpretation and Apple has offered official explanations for several of the historical examples discussed, the analysis has prompted renewed conversations about spiritual discernment in modern media.
The Image That Started the Debate
The creator points to a brief scene in the commercial where a woman is surrounded by silver-suited figures representing online trackers. Above her hangs a custom painting showing horned figures surrounding a woman reading a book.
According to the analysis, the positioning of the horned figures closely mirrors the placement of the silver-suited trackers below, leading the creator to suggest the artwork intentionally evokes demonic imagery rather than serving as a random background detail.
The video also notes that the painting was created specifically for the commercial by director Ivan Zacharias’ production team.

Looking at Apple’s History
The analysis expands beyond the commercial, highlighting Apple’s original Apple I price of $666.66, the company’s bitten apple logo and its iconic 1984 and 1985 Macintosh advertisements.
The creator argues these examples consistently portray Apple as a source of hidden or liberating knowledge while using imagery that echoes biblical themes surrounding temptation and deception.
Apple has publicly maintained different explanations over the years, saying co-founder Steve Wozniak preferred repeating digits for pricing and that the bitten apple logo was designed to make the fruit easily recognizable.
Discernment, Not Fear
Whether every connection raised in the video reflects intentional occult messaging or creative interpretation is difficult to determine from the outside. For us as Christians, however, Scripture is clear that spiritual discernment is essential.
God has not called us to fear hidden symbols or become consumed with speculation. He has given us His Word and the Holy Spirit to help us recognize truth from deception. As culture increasingly communicates through symbolism and imagery, we should prayerfully test everything against Scripture, ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and keep our eyes fixed on Christ, who always leads us into truth.
