Daystar president and co-founder Joni Lamb is no stranger to the storms of life. This includes controversial media coverage revolving around claims of alleged abuse of a child in her family by another Lamb relative. In an exclusive interview with Charisma Media CEO and founder, Stephen Strang, Lamb explains how she is clinging to Christ right now in the middle of these storms.
In the official statement from Daystar about the closing of the investigation surrounding these alleged events, the ministry said that: “…there was never any mishandling—as falsely argued by some on social media—on the part of Daystar and its leadership,” and “Although saddened by those who were led to believe the gossip, rumors and false accusations promulgated on social media, Daystar appreciates the love and support it has received from countless viewers and ministry partners and will continue in its mission to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ around the world.”
Speaking on the spiritual perspective about those who have built platforms attacking ministries, Lamb believes that there is a battle in the spiritual realm against the work that Daystar has done to build the kingdom of God.
“I think, money, greed, are really the thing that’s driving some people to create a platform and then to allow content on there that’s not true because it’s sensational or because someone has a big platform and they can get an algorithm to go high enough to when people click on it, they get paid money,” she says. “I’m going to let the Lord deal with these people.

“It’s not a flesh and blood battle. This is the battle that is purposed to hurt Daystar.”
The reason, Lamb believes, that spiritual forces are after Daystar is the number of people who are currently being reached with the Gospel through their platforms.
“…we added 147 million new homes in 2024 to our already millions,” Lamb says.
She further notes that in the month of January of this year, 28 million more homes have already been added to the Daystar reach. Lamb also says 40 million of the new homes added to the network’s viewership last year included those in the 1040 window, which is known for great persecution against Christians and being the most unreached people group with the Gospel.
Along with these great numbers, Lamb points out that Daystar in Spanish was launched, along with ventures to reach those in prison and secular networks. Daystar continues to give to Israel ever since the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks. Lamb also says that salvations and phone calls to Daystar have skyrocketed.
“We had over 65% increase in salvations in 2024 and we took…anywhere from 60 to 80% more calls,” she says. “If you want to know what the battle is about, it’s not about me or the family or my marriage. It’s a battle against Daystar for what we’re doing to the kingdom of darkness.”
Yet, through all of the warfare, Lamb says she has felt comforted by Christ in the middle of her trials.
“There are days that you cry, and then there are days that…even why you cry, have felt an incredible amount of peace. That’s how you know Jesus is with you in the storm,” Lamb says.
She shares how even in the desperate times, she continues to receive letters and texts of encouragement from strong men and women in the faith who remind her that God is for her and not against her.
“Literally, hundreds and hundreds of people have responded and just been so kind and gracious,” Lamb says. “The thing about it is just navigating all of this in a way that’s pleasing to the Lord.”
While Lamb says she is sure there are ways she could have done better, the key point is that her heart belongs to the Lord and she is trying to lead her life according to His good and perfect plan.
“I’m so sorry for people that are caught in the crossfire, innocent people, people that their faith may be challenged as a result of hearing something or seeing something that’s not true. But again, I just have to trust the Lord with all of that. And there have been a lot of words, prophetic words, that I’ve received…that have said, ‘On the other side of this, God is going to do some great things with Daystar’.”
