Ted Greenfield had a vision to fly human trafficking survivors to safety. He had no airplane and no organization established to do it.

Then an aircraft advertisement stopped him cold.

“I want to donate this plane to a nonprofit.”

It was the exact model another pilot had recommended for the mission. When Greenfield contacted the owner, his excitement sent his words tumbling.

“Son, son, son, slow down. I want you to have the airplane,” the man told him.

In an interview with CBN News’ Billy Hallowell, Greenfield recounted the extraordinary provision and the instructions he says God gave him along the way.

The journey began at a 2018 Bible study. A guest speaker described human trafficking around Baltimore and Washington. Greenfield initially struggled to believe the horror unfolding so close to home.

Then the truth broke through.

“This landed in my heart like a bag of wet cement,” he said.

The burden followed him into sleepless nights. A pilot working as a multimedia producer for the Federal Aviation Administration, Greenfield began searching for a way to help.

He called an anti-trafficking organization with a question: Could private aircraft transport survivors to safety?

“Oh my gosh, you have no idea what an answer to prayer this would be,” the director responded.

Workers were driving survivors 10 to 14 hours to safe homes. Flying could slash those exhausting journeys.

The conversation became a prophetic prayer call. Greenfield said the director spoke of him leading an organization with a fleet of aircraft serving hundreds or thousands of survivors.

“All right, Lord. I have no idea how this is going to happen, but let’s go,” he recalled responding afterward.

Months later, during an FAA meeting, Greenfield said he heard God speak the name “Invisible Angels” and direct him to purchase the corresponding website domain.

He expected a $3,500 price tag. It was available for $35.

After the purchase came another instruction, he said: “Write a budget for this organization and speak life into it as if it’s already up and running.”

Long stretches of waiting followed. Greenfield worked on the budget and built relationships with rescue organizations.

Then came the advertisement offering a Cessna Centurion P210.

The owner signed over the aircraft in 2021. Invisible Angels completed its first flight that December.

Today, Greenfield said, the organization coordinates private and commercial flights to move survivors to safe homes and care. A survivor advocate accompanies every passenger. Its youngest passenger was 8.

Greenfield also described purchasing first-class tickets when available after another prompting from God. Each journey carries an opportunity to help restore dignity after exploitation.

“We have to show survivors how valuable they are in the eyes of God,” he said.
