The battle over Gaza’s future is far from finished. Now, with Israel’s political leadership hanging in the balance, President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace is back in the Jewish state, and the pressure to move forward with a peace agreement could be mounting.
According to The Times of Israel, top Board of Peace envoy Nickolay Mladenov visited Israel on Monday, Nov. 2, while former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is expected to arrive later this week.
The timing is anything but insignificant.
Israel’s Oct. 27 election failed to produce a clear governing majority, leaving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu facing an uncertain political future. Meanwhile, Trump’s ambitious 20-point Gaza peace plan has spent months struggling to gain traction.
A Board official said that the organization wants to “see where things are” following the election.

As Charisma previously reported, Mladenov warned in August that the standoff over Hamas’ disarmament and Israel’s military operations threatened to unravel the fragile ceasefire.
Netanyahu has resisted a proposed framework connecting Hamas’ gradual disarmament with phased Israeli withdrawals, arguing that it fails to guarantee the terrorist organization’s complete disarmament.
And the Board’s ambitions extend beyond a ceasefire.
Charisma also reported on a multibillion-dollar reconstruction proposal to reshape Gaza’s infrastructure, governance and economic future.
So what happens when international pressure for peace collides with Israel’s demands for security?
For Christians watching the Middle East, the stakes go far beyond another round of diplomatic talks. Scripture warns in 1 Thessalonians 5:3 about declarations of “peace and safety,” making the world’s continuing pursuit of Middle East peace particularly noteworthy for those studying biblical prophecy.
Peace may be the stated objective. The question is what Israel will be asked to surrender, accept or change to achieve it.
