Internet personality Logan Paul opened up about his evolving relationship with God during a wide-ranging conversation with Christian evangelist Bryce Crawford, admitting that he once publicly mocked God before experiencing what he described as immediate consequences.
Crawford joined Paul and co-host Mike Majlak on the “Impaulsive” podcast to discuss Christianity, salvation and the historical evidence for Jesus Christ.
Paul recalled a previous episode in which he believed he had publicly disrespected God.
“I had mocked God,” Paul said. “I shortly thereafter felt the wrath of God. It was crazy. It was almost instantaneous.”
Paul said he initially struggled to understand what was happening as his circumstances deteriorated.
“It was the darkest time of my life,” he said.
The experience did not instantly resolve Paul’s questions about Christianity. He described himself as someone who naturally pushes against conventional thinking and said uncomfortable childhood experiences in church caused him to keep faith at a distance.

However, Paul said his spiritual life is now stronger than it has ever been.
Crawford encouraged Paul to continue asking difficult questions, explaining that honest wrestling with faith is better than pretending to believe something.
“I would rather you honestly come to me, like no strings attached, and tell me how you’re feeling about God,” Crawford said.
Crawford also shared his own dramatic encounter with Jesus. After years of depression and anxiety, he entered a Waffle House on Christmas Day 2020 intending for it to be his final meal before taking his own life.
While there, Crawford invited a stranger to sit with him so they could get a table. During their conversation, the man made a statement that changed the direction of Crawford’s life.
“There’s no growth in a relationship if the love isn’t mutual,” the stranger told him.
Crawford said the statement caused him to reconsider whether he had ever allowed himself to love God in return. He ran to his vehicle and cried out to Christ.
“Instead of taking my life, I gave my life to Jesus, and He took away my anxiety and depression,” Crawford said. “I’ve been following Him since that day.”
The conversation later turned toward eternal life. Paul rated his confidence in going to heaven at eight out of 10, explaining that he believes he is a good person who is learning from his mistakes.
Crawford responded that salvation cannot be earned through personal improvement or good works.
“There’s not an amount of good works that we can do to get into heaven,” Crawford said. “Christ is the gift for us.”
