We often bring our burdens before God, experience His peace and then pick those same burdens back up before the day is over.
Pastor, author and evangelist Kelly K recently addressed this familiar struggle, encouraging believers to stop treating surrender as a temporary arrangement.
“We don’t give our problems to God. We loan them to Him,” Kelly said.
Pointing to Philippians 4, Kelly reminded believers that Scripture tells us, “Don’t worry about anything. Instead, pray about everything.” Yet prayer does not end the cycle of anxiety if we immediately return to rehearsing everything that could go wrong.
“Some of us pray about everything and then worry about it anyway,” Kelly said.
Spirit-led living means recognizing when fear is attempting to reclaim ground we have already surrendered to God. Once we have prayed, we do not need to replay the problem, predict every possible outcome or repeatedly imagine difficult conversations.
“If you prayed about it, you don’t gotta keep rehearsing it, you don’t gotta keep predicting it, and you don’t have to keep having imaginary conversations about it in the shower,” Kelly said.

Prayer does not bring God up to speed. He already knows the need, sees the road ahead and understands every detail surrounding the situation. Prayer realigns our hearts with that truth.
“Prayer isn’t informing God about something He missed,” Kelly said. “Prayer is reminding you who’s carrying it.”
When anxious thoughts return, believers can choose faith instead of reopening the case. Kelly suggested responding, “No. I already turned that assignment in.”
“You gave it to God, my friends. Stop taking it back,” he said. “It’s your turn to trust Him.”
God saw the need before it appeared, and He is already working beyond what we can see. Our responsibility is to pray, surrender and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading without allowing fear to pull us backward.
“You know He already saw the need coming before you did,” Kelly said. “And you know He’s already gone ahead of you and made a way.”
God has spoken in His Word, and He remains faithful to every promise. Leave the burden in His hands, silence the voice of fear and move forward in the peace that comes from trusting Him.
