What if the very season that felt like confinement was actually God’s preparation ground?

That is the message author, speaker and evangelist Alwyn Uys recently shared after what he described as a powerful encounter with the Lord during a morning bike ride. While spending time in prayer for those who follow his ministry, Uys said the Holy Spirit impressed on his heart that many believers who have felt overlooked, silenced or confined are about to step into a new season of boldness.

“I specifically felt that God is releasing His voices in this time,” Uys said.

As he cycled along his usual route, Uys stopped at a scenic overlook where he often spends quiet moments in prayer. There, he noticed a falcon land in a nearby treetop directly within his view. Because birds such as eagles and falcons are frequently associated with prophetic symbolism in Scripture, the moment immediately captured his attention.

According to Uys, the Holy Spirit used the encounter to reveal that many Christians have spent far too long feeling trapped by fear, rejection, difficult circumstances or the opinions of others.

“For too long have you been contained,” he said. “For too long have you been held captive by the opinions of people around you, by your situation… God is loosening this cage. He’s opening up the doors. He’s breaking you free in this time.”

Uys emphasized that this message is not reserved exclusively for those called to prophetic ministry. Instead, he believes God is raising up ordinary believers who will faithfully proclaim His truth wherever He has placed them.

Pointing to Isaiah 40:31, Uys reminded listeners that God’s promises are often fulfilled after seasons of patient waiting.

“But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint,” the passage declares.

Uys suggested that many believers have grown weary during extended seasons of hiddenness. Whether through personal hardship, spiritual attacks or prolonged waiting, he believes those difficult seasons have not been wasted.

“I believe that God is renewing your strength because you’ve waited upon Him, because you’ve been faithful in the waiting,” Uys said. “God has been preparing you in silence. He’s been preparing you in the wilderness. He’s been preparing you in the darkness, but He’s getting ready to release you in this time.”

Even as he encouraged believers to boldly become God’s voice, Uys also offered an important reminder about discernment. Intimacy with the Lord, he said, means learning not only how to hear God’s voice but also when to speak.

“Not everything that God reveals to you… is meant to be uttered out publicly,” he said, comparing God’s relationship with believers to that of a trusted friend who shares personal secrets with the expectation that they will be handled wisely.

As spiritual darkness continues to increase across the world, Uys’ message serves as both an encouragement and a challenge. The body of Christ does not need more voices driven by fear or public approval—it needs believers shaped in the secret place and willing to obey the Holy Spirit without compromise.

If this is indeed a season in which God is releasing His voices, then the greatest qualification may not be influence or platform, but faithfulness. Those who have remained steadfast through seasons of silence may soon discover that God was not delaying their calling—He was preparing them to carry it with both courage and wisdom.
