As spring takes hold and May approaches, prophetic voice John Eckhardt is sounding a declaration of renewal, freshness, and divine favor, drawing from one of the most poetic passages in all of scripture.
A Verse That Paints a Picture
Eckhardt opened his message with Song of Solomon 2:12, a verse he called ‘amazing’ for its rich, sensory imagery of the natural world.
“The flowers appear on the earth. The time of the singing of birds is come. And the voice of the turtle is heard in our land.” — Song of Solomon 2:12
For Eckhardt, the verse is more than poetry: it is a prophetic portrait of what God is releasing in this season. “Flowers are a very powerful symbol of newness, freshness, blooming, blossoming and beauty,” he said. “It’s a symbol of springing forth, a symbol of the spring, a new season.”
Coming Out of Winter
Eckhardt drew a vivid contrast between the spiritual stagnation of winter and the life-giving energy of spring. “The winter season can represent something where things are not growing, things are not moving,” he explained. “But this is the season that represents renewal and refreshing.”
He reflected how during this time there is a return of birds chirping and singing, which carries deep meaning. “When I hear them singing, it’s a symbol of renewal,” he said, “a symbol of something new coming forth.”

Eckhardt also unpacked the symbolism of the turtledove mentioned in the verse, noting that turtledoves “are often symbols of love and fidelity because they mate for life” — pointing to a season of faithful, enduring relationship with God.
New Things Are Springing Forth
Grounding his message in Isaiah 42:9, Eckhardt emphasized that God announces new things before they arrive: “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things do I declare. Before they spring forth, I tell you of them.”
He called on believers to break free from the weight of the past and position themselves for the new. “Don’t be stuck in the old. Don’t be stuck in the past,” he urged. “God gives you beauty for ashes” — a reference to Isaiah 61:3 that has become a hallmark theme of his ministry.
“Believe God for newness. Believe God for freshness: in your ministry, your business, your finances, your relationships, your influence, your career,” Eckhardt said.
A Prophetic Decree Over May
Eckhardt closed with a bold prophetic declaration, calling May a month to be marked by divine favor, beauty and breakthrough.
“I decree and prophesy that May will be a month of beauty, a month of flowers, a month of favor. Favor is beauty. Beauty is favor,” he said.
He encouraged believers to release their faith and actively receive what God is releasing. “It’s an exciting time to be alive as a believer,” he declared. “I’m here to prophesy renewal, newness, freshness as we get ready to go into the month of May.”
For Eckhardt, the flowers of spring are not merely seasonal — they are a divine invitation to step into something brand new.
