Church-Based Royal Rangers Program Provides Alternative to Boy Scouts

Royal Rangers

As the Boy Scouts of America officially begin allowing homosexual troop members, the Royal Rangers organization remains committed to providing a biblically based, values-driven alternative for families seeking to instill, grow and build character and morals in young men, just as it has been since its founding in 1962.

“Ongoing cultural changes and the powerful influence of media have created an environment where the path to manhood is no longer clear, and as a result, many boys are losing their way,” said Doug Marsh, international Director of Royal Rangers. “The Royal Rangers program provides an effective means of encouraging boys by not only centering activities around a core of shared interests and experiences but also helping to grow their character traits of justice, compassion, mercy and grace.”

Royal Rangers is a K-12 mentoring program for future men, which provides Christ-like character formation and servant leadership development in a highly relational and fun environment. The organization’s motto is “Ready. Ready for anything. Ready to work, play, serve, worship, live and obey God’s Word.”

Currently, an estimated 125,000 boys, young men and leaders participate in Royal Rangers through their network of 4,000 outposts active in all 50 states. Royal Rangers has additional outposts located in 90 countries around the world.
