Revivalist and deliverance minister Isaiah Saldivar devoted a recent livestream to a topic that has become a recurring issue in the Christian world: the spiritual “doors” that allow demonic influence into a believer’s life.
“If you know the doors that demons enter through, you can keep them closed,” Saldivar said. “I don’t want to live my life demonized. I don’t want to have to go from deliverance to deliverance to deliverance. I want to live free.”
Saldivar repeatedly emphasized that believers should not become fearful or blame every struggle on demons. Instead, his goal was to expose the enemy’s strategies so we can walk in greater spiritual freedom.
1. Occult involvement
Saldivar identified involvement with occult and New Age practices as one of the primary spiritual dangers Christians should avoid. He listed activities such as tarot cards, Ouija boards, psychics, astrology, spirit guides and other forms of supernatural guidance outside of God.
“God repeatedly warns His people, stay away from witchcraft. Stay away from occult practices,” Saldivar said. “You’re seeking supernatural power, protection, wisdom, prosperity, fill in the blank from a source other than God.”
2. Persistent, unrepentant sin
Saldivar distinguished between believers who stumble and those who knowingly continue in sin without repentance.
“We’re talking about persistent, ongoing, unrepentant, willful sin,” he said. “A lifestyle that says, ‘I know what God says. I know it’s wrong. I just don’t care.'”
He argued that Christians should continually confess their sins and pursue holiness rather than becoming comfortable with ongoing rebellion.
3. Unforgiveness and bitterness
Another area Saldivar highlighted was unforgiveness, which he said can keep people spiritually bound long after they have been hurt.
“Unforgiveness destroys the person carrying the unforgiveness,” he said. “You honestly think that you’re punishing them for not forgiving them when you’re only hurting yourself.”
He encouraged viewers to release past offenses rather than allowing bitterness to grow.
4. Sexual sin
Saldivar devoted significant attention to sexual sin, calling it one of the greatest spiritual challenges facing the modern church.
“The number one open door right now is sexual sin,” he said. “Pornography has become one of the greatest addictions in the modern church.”
He argued that God’s design for sexuality is found within the covenant of marriage and urged believers to pursue purity.

5. Trauma
Saldivar also discussed trauma, saying painful experiences can leave lasting spiritual wounds if they remain unresolved.
“Trauma is an open door to demonic spirits,” he said. “Not because you did something, but because something was done to you.”
He encouraged viewers to invite Christ into those painful areas and seek healing rather than allowing past wounds to define their lives.
6. Pride
Pride was another issue Saldivar warned against, pointing to James 4:6 and emphasizing the importance of humility.
“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble,” he said. “Pride puts you on the throne. Humility says, ‘God, Your will be done.'”
He encouraged believers to remain teachable, receive correction and avoid self-exaltation.
7. False religion and false doctrine
Saldivar also cautioned viewers against teachings he believes depart from biblical Christianity.
“If we or an angel preaches any other gospel, let them be cursed,” he said, referencing Galatians 1.
He urged Christians to measure every teaching against Scripture.
8. Entertainment
According to Saldivar, the entertainment people consume can shape their spiritual lives more than many realize.
“What you listen to and what you watch,” he said, “these are open doors.”
He encouraged Christians to evaluate whether their music, movies and other media draw them closer to Christ or normalize darkness.
9. Fear
Saldivar described fear as another area believers should confront through faith.
“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind,” he said.
Rather than dwelling on worst-case scenarios, he encouraged Christians to take fearful thoughts captive and trust God’s promises.
10. Willful disobedience
Saldivar concluded by warning against knowingly ignoring what believers believe God has called them to do.
“When you delay obedience, it’s disobedience,” he said. “To obey is better than sacrifice.”
He argued that genuine spiritual growth requires responding to God’s direction with obedience rather than delay.
Saldivar concluded the livestream by encouraging viewers to examine their lives, confess their sins, forgive those who have hurt them and seek freedom through Jesus Christ. He aimed to encourage believers to pursue repentance, holiness and a closer walk with Christ rather than living in fear or spiritual complacency.
