Pastor Steven Furtick says he’s heard lots of theories about why Jesus picked Peter, given that Peter was a very unconventional pick to be a disciple. Furtick says, “I heard one preacher say, ‘Because Peter was bold. That’s why Jesus liked him. He was bold.’ I don’t think so.” Instead, Furtick says he has a theory shocking in its simplicity: He thinks Jesus picked Peter purely because Peter had a boat and Jesus needed some way to get around. He explains his theory a little during this sermon video, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments.
