Francis Chan filmed a video in Hong Kong, where he now lives with his family, saying he found photos of his mom just before the family moved. His mom died giving birth to him in San Francisco, California. But unbeknownst to Chan, prior to that, she did ministry for God in Hong Kong, where Chan currently is—70 years ago. He learned that when he saw the photos, which had a location stamped on them.
“When I saw that, it was just confirmation of God’s goodness,” Chan says. “He didn’t have to do these things; it’s just His grace, going, ‘No, you’re [going] the right direction.'”
