The Holy Spirit, by definition, is supernatural, because He operates above the laws of the natural. The natural encompasses the things that exist in the visual world and are governed by natural limitations. The Holy Spirit is not part of the natural world; thus, He is supernatural. This means our relationship with God is supernatural and exists above the laws of the material world, time and even space. God is present everywhere at once. Truly then, being born of God’s Spirit brings us into a higher and new reality.
Messiah Jesus said: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3, ESV).
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6).
This occurs when we receive Messiah Yeshua into our life. You have been born of the supernatural one. Beloved, be encouraged to open yourself up to this reality. There is now a supernatural dimension at work in your life.
Many years ago, I was going through a season of intently pressing in to experience more of God. I had tried everything I knew to enter into a greater reality, but nothing seemed to be helping me; nothing seemed to be working.

Finally, one day, as I was sitting at home, the Holy Spirit spoke to me. It was not as though I heard Him audibly, but it was crystal-clear. This is what the Lord said to me:
The reason you are not finding Me is because you are searching for Me on the outside. You are searching for Me in what you are doing, as if what you are doing is going to make you experience Me. I want you to stop focusing on anything on the outside. I want you to ask Me just for one thing. I want you to ask Me to give you revelation of the fact that I am already in you.”
Beloved, I was looking for God on the outside and by what I was doing, but the Lord said: “No, you are not going to find Me by looking to Me in your works, or in what you’re doing. I am already inside you. I want you to focus on one thing: Ask Me to give you revelation that I am in you.”
From the very moment that I received that revelation, a new and fresh power came into my life. That was over 30 years ago, and I have never been the same since. Coming to the realization, through the grace of Father, that Messiah Jesus is already in me completely revolutionized my walk with God.
Do not misunderstand me; I have a long way to go. I am constantly still praying for more revelation of the mystery that Christ is in me, that Messiah Yeshua lives inside me, that the Holy Spirit resides within me. I am still looking to get more and more comprehension of this reality. But entering into this revelation has absolutely changed my walk with God forever!
The problem is that so many of us are not experiencing God’s power and the Holy Spirit’s supernatural presence because we are only looking for Him in the natural things and in the world around us. We often are limiting God to what we can see with our natural eyes or do in our external efforts to find Him.
Beloved, we are not going to be able to find the unfathomable depths of God in the world around us. We are only going to experience the fullness of His love when we find Him within us.
Jesus said: “For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17: 21b, NKJV).
The Lord does do things outside of us. He can give us supernatural signs outside ourselves. Jesus turned the water into wine (John 2: 1-25), and God spoke to Moses through the burning bush (Ex. 3: 1-3). We do need to be paying attention to what is happening in our environment, because God often does speak to us through the natural, but He primarily and foundationally speaks to us from within.
The witness of the Holy Spirit is on the inside.
You see, beloved, the enemy also works in the outer world. When Pharaoh’s magicians threw their staffs on the ground, the staffs turned into snakes, much like Moses’ did (Ex. 7:12). The devil can counterfeit signs.
If we are primarily relying on and being led by our circumstances, and by what we consider to be supernatural signs that are taking place in the outer world, we are going to go astray; we are going to be deceived. We need to focus on being led by the inner witness of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:16). If we are going to experience—in a greater way—the supernatural presence of God, we will need to embrace the revelation: Jesus is already inside us!
