Benny Hinn delivered a deeply personal and reflective message during the Southwest Believers’ Convention Healing School on Aug. 1, calling Christians back to what he described as the true source of spiritual transformation: an intimate relationship with Jesus through His Word and the person of the Holy Spirit.
Speaking before ministering to those seeking healing, Hinn challenged attendees to shift their focus away from chasing miraculous experiences and instead pursue a deeper knowledge of Christ.
“I believe you’ve come today because you believe in your hearts He’s here,” Hinn told the congregation. “You want to experience Him in a deeper way.”
Preaching from John 14:21, Hinn emphasized Jesus’ promise that He will “manifest” Himself to those who keep His commandments. He explained that keeping God’s Word means guarding it carefully, refusing to let it be lost, and continually fixing one’s eyes upon it.
“The Scriptures—and only the Scriptures—will manifest Christ Jesus to you,” Hinn said, encouraging believers to search for Jesus throughout both the Old and New Testaments rather than simply reading biblical history.
From there, Hinn transitioned into one of the central themes of his message: miracles alone cannot transform the human heart.
Pointing to both the Israelites in the wilderness and Jesus’ own disciples, Hinn observed that they witnessed extraordinary displays of God’s power yet still struggled with unbelief, fear and disobedience.
“The power of God does not change the hearts of men,” Hinn declared. “Only the Holy Spirit changes the hearts of men.”

Hinn also reflected on the profound influence Kathryn Kuhlman had on his ministry. Recounting the first time he witnessed her services and later being asked to conduct her memorial service at just 24 years old, he described a defining moment when overwhelming fear left him unable to continue.
As he silently confessed to the Lord, “I cannot do it,” Hinn said he sensed God answer, “I’m glad. Now I will.”
That experience, he said, forever taught him that God’s greatest work begins where human strength ends.
Throughout the message, Hinn repeatedly urged believers not to seek God’s power apart from knowing the Holy Spirit personally.
“When you look for His power, you want to use Him,” he said. “But when you look to Him, He will use you.”
Hinn also spoke candidly about how reading through the Bible three times each year since 2012 has reshaped his own life. He said the discipline has deepened his love for Christ while increasing his sensitivity to anything that grieves the Holy Spirit, including bitterness, corrupt speech and unforgiveness.
Closing his message, Hinn appealed to Christians to stop attacking one another—especially fellow believers and ministers—through criticism and social media conflicts.
Instead, he called the church to forgiveness, kindness and renewed devotion to Jesus.
Before checking their phones or beginning the day’s responsibilities, Hinn urged believers to spend time first worshiping God and immersing themselves in Scripture.
His message ultimately centered on a simple but powerful reminder: genuine revival is sustained not by spectacular miracles alone, but by believers who daily pursue Jesus through His Word and the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit.
