For centuries, biblical prophecy has fascinated believers and skeptics alike, especially when it appears to echo modern-day events.
Evangelist Perry Stone believes we are on the brink of seeing one such prophecy unfold—one that has been lingering in Scripture for thousands of years. According to Stone, the foretold destruction of Damascus isn’t just a distant warning; it’s a future reality waiting to happen.
On a recent episode of “Manna-fest,” his long-running program, Stone tackled what he calls ‘The 2025 Damascus Prophecies,’ setting out to correct misconceptions and bring clarity to an often-misunderstood biblical prediction. With nearly five decades of study behind him, he cuts through speculation to focus on what Scripture actually says about Damascus and its fate.

Is Damascus on the Brink of Fulfillment?
Stone wastes no time addressing what he sees as misinformation about recent events in Syria.
“There has been a lot of discussion, and honestly, a little bit of misinformation,” he says, adding that many who analyze prophecy “may not have the experience of the total knowledge of prophecy or of the Bible and therefore they can get some of their information incorrect.”
His aim? To set the record straight based on 48 years of studying Scripture and thousands of hours of biblical research.
At the center of the discussion is Isaiah 17:1-3, which states: “Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.”
Despite its long history, Stone notes that Damascus has “never been totally wiped out the way the prophet predicted.” Instead, the city has been conquered, rebuilt and remained a key trade hub for thousands of years. But according to him, the full prophetic fulfillment has yet to come.
Three Major Prophetic Events to Watch
While focusing on Damascus, Stone also highlights three major end-times events that he believes will reshape the Middle East:
- The rise of Persia (modern-day Iran) as it strengthens alliances with other nations to eventually attack Israel.
- The complete destruction of Damascus, fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy.
- A coalition of 10 kings, emerging from the remnants of the old Roman Empire and uniting under the Antichrist.
“These are the game changers,” Stone emphasizes.
Why Damascus Matters
Damascus isn’t just another Middle Eastern city—it’s one of the oldest continuously inhabited places on Earth. Stone explains, “Damascus is about 4,000 years old… and has been an oasis from the beginning.” Because of its strategic location and natural resources, it has “been captured by the Egyptians, the Assyrians, the Chaldeans, the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans”—but never wiped off the map.
Today, Damascus sits at the heart of a war-torn Syria, fractured by militias, foreign influence and internal strife.
“The Assad regime, which has ruled for 50 years, has been overthrown by militias,” Stone says, referencing Syria’s fractured state. Yet, despite the violence, the city remains. Could the final prophecy be nearing its fulfillment?
A Future of Peace—or More Chaos?
Despite the grim outlook, Stone suggests that prophecy doesn’t end with destruction. He turns to Isaiah 19, which describes an era where Israel, Egypt, and Assyria will be in harmony:
“In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land.”
It’s a compelling vision—one where ancient enemies find unity instead of war. Stone wonders what could be possible if peace finally took root in the region.
