Amid the growing political turbulence and protests across America, Perry Stone is revisiting a prophetic narrative that ties President Donald Trump to the only U.S. leader to serve two non-consecutive terms: Grover Cleveland. Stone recounted an article and teaching he released years ago which drew from the biblical account of Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel and suggested Trump could return to office.
“When President Trump lost the election,” Stone said, “I based the article on the story of King Nebuchadnezzar, where the tree was cut down but the stump remained in the earth… and God restored him back to the throne.”

Stone argued that just as Nebuchadnezzar was removed from power but later reinstated, Trump’s political journey follows a similar restoration. He noted that historical precedent exists, pointing to Grover Cleveland—elected president in 1884, defeated in 1888 and reelected in 1892.
Long before Trump announced his 2024 run or others began drawing similar comparisons, Stone asserted that he and his team had already taught on the Grover Cleveland parallel. “We did this long before this was ever discussed,” he said. “There was a man that was elected president for four years—Grover Cleveland—he lost to Benjamin Harrison and then he was reelected after Harrison served four years.”
Stone also addressed recent anti-Trump “No Kings” protests across major cities. Drawing another historical connection, he cited the labor unrest of 1894 during Cleveland’s second term. That year, union organizers blocked trains using Pullman railcars, leading Cleveland to deploy U.S. troops to restore order and ensure the flow of mail and commerce.
“In 1895, the court approved these measures,” Stone noted. “The entire strength of the nation may be used to enforce… the full and free exercise of all national powers.” He compared this to Trump’s controversial call to mobilize the National Guard during times of civil unrest, suggesting the precedent has long existed.

Using Scriptural and historical frameworks, Stone emphasized the importance of recognizing patterns in governance and divine providence. “As Solomon wrote,” he said, “‘The things which have been are those things which shall be.'”
Stone concluded by referencing Daniel 2, which states that it is God who “raises up kings and removes them,” underscoring the spiritual weight behind political shifts.
By examining biblical archetypes and historical parallels, Stone offers a unique perspective—one that blends prophecy, politics and providence into a compelling narrative about Trump’s return and America’s unfolding destiny.
