Jonathan Cahn is sounding the alarm over what he believes could become one of the most spiritually significant moments of 2027: the reopening of the ancient Altar of Pergamon, an artifact he identifies with the biblical “throne of Satan.”
And the timing, Cahn says, is impossible to ignore.
The altar, housed in Berlin’s Pergamon Museum, has been hidden from public view for more than a decade. But according to Cahn, plans currently call for it to be unveiled again on June 4, 2027.
That date carries particular significance in Cahn’s prophetic framework.
Cahn says June 4 corresponds to the 20th of Iyar on the Hebrew calendar. This date on the Hebrew calendar is connected to the restoration of Jerusalem to the Jewish people during the Six-Day War in 1967. He described Jerusalem’s restoration as one of modern history’s great prophetic milestones.
Now, Cahn is asking whether something much darker could be unfolding alongside that anniversary.
“Could the release of the throne of Satan on that day be related?” Cahn asked. “Like an anti-version of it. Or the beginning of something that will war against God’s kingdom.”

For Cahn, the warning becomes even more striking when looking back nearly a century.
He points to 1930, when the public was first shown the Altar of Pergamon in Berlin. Cahn notes that the Nazi Party had captured only 2% of the vote in Germany’s 1928 elections. By the autumn of 1930, however, the Nazis had surged to become the country’s second-largest political party. Cahn connects that dramatic political shift with the altar’s unveiling and the escalating darkness that ultimately culminated in Hitler’s rise, World War II and the Holocaust.
But Cahn isn’t declaring that history will repeat itself.
“Now, I’m not giving a prophecy,” he emphasized. “Nothing has to happen. We don’t put God in a box, but I would keep my eyes open for the possible signs of evil or a coming power of evil, a rising darkness.”
That may be the real takeaway for believers heading toward 2027: not fear, but vigilance.
Cahn urged Christians to become spiritual “watchmen and watchwomen on the walls,” remaining alert to the schemes of the enemy while remembering where their authority ultimately comes from. He closed with Luke 10:19, reminding believers that Christ has given His people authority “over all the power of the enemy.”
Whatever June 2027 brings, Cahn’s message is clear: Keep your eyes open, discern the times and stand firm in the power of God.
