President Trump announced his support for Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton as the campaign against Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico continues.

“The Highly Respected Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, an America First Patriot, and someone who has always been extremely loyal to me and our AMAZING MAGA MOVEMENT, is running for the United States Senate, to represent a place I love and WON, BIG, three times, with 6.4 Million Votes in 2024 (The Most Votes in the History of the State, BY FAR)!” Trump wrote. He added that Paxton is a “Strong Supporter of TERMINATING THE FILIBUSTER and, very importantly, THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, something which polls at 87%, including Dumocrats, and yet can’t seem to get approved.”

Trump added that while Cornyn is a “good man” and he “worked well with him,” he criticized that Cornyn “was not supportive of me when times were tough.”

Pivoting back to Paxton, Trump said the attorney general “has gone through a lot, in many cases, very unfairly, but he is a Fighter, and knows how to WIN. Our Country needs Fighters, and also Loyalty to the Cause of Greatness. We can never allow what happened to the United States of America during the Corrupt Biden Administration, to happen again.”

Paxton launched his senatorial campaign in April 2025. Speaking to Laura Ingraham, Paxton said, “We have another great U.S. senator, Ted Cruz, and it’s time we have another great senator that will actually stand up and fight for Republican values, fight for the values of the people of Texas, and also support Donald Trump in the areas that he’s focused on in a very significant way. And that’s what I plan on doing.”
