A beloved Ohio mother of three was killed in a freak accident after a massive tree crashed through her SUV as she traveled along a highway, leaving behind a grieving family and a community stunned by the sudden loss.
Bridget E. Reagan, 35, of Minerva, Ohio, was driving west on U.S. Route 30 in Paris Township on Saturday when a tree fell from a wooded area and struck her 2023 Jeep Wagoneer, according to Fox News, citing the Ohio State Highway Patrol. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now, investigators are trying to understand what caused the tree to fall at the exact moment Reagan was driving by.
“We’re trying to determine whether or not the ground was saturated, if the tree was rotted or things like that — everything points to being an act of God,” Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Johnnie Maier told WEWS, according to Fox News.
The tragedy was as sudden as it was devastating. Reagan was simply driving down the road when, without warning, everything changed.
“This could have happened to anybody, but in this case, it happened to a young lady with a family,” Maier said.
Those words point to the heartbreaking reality surrounding Reagan’s death. Life can change in an instant, and for those who loved her, an ordinary Saturday became a day they will never forget.
Yet, Reagan’s story is about far more than the circumstances of her death.
The mother of three also owned Chic Haven, a clothing and home décor boutique in Minerva, where she had established herself as a familiar and beloved presence in the community.

Her generosity also extended beyond her business. Last year, Reagan used her birthday to encourage others to support SAVE22 Veterans, which is a nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans and creating awareness about veteran suicide.
Now, the same community Reagan poured into is rallying around the family she leaves behind.
Her sister announced the devastating news through Chic Haven Boutique, describing the overwhelming grief Reagan’s loved ones are facing.
“There are no words that could ever truly express the heartbreak and emptiness we are feeling,” the family said, according to Fox News.
At the center of that heartbreak are Reagan’s three young children.
A fundraiser organized by Reagan’s sister described the children as the “center of her world” and is raising money to help cover funeral and memorial costs while supporting their future needs.
As Reagan’s three children face life without their mother and her loved ones navigate the days ahead, pray that the Lord would draw especially near to this grieving family. Pray for supernatural comfort, strength and peace that surpasses understanding, and that Reagan’s children would be surrounded by people who will love, protect and support them through every season ahead.
