A Jacksonville, Florida, woman is thanking God after a massive tree crashed through her home during Saturday’s severe storms, destroying the very room where she believes she would have been if not for God’s prompting.
According to one report from News4Jax, Pamela Randall narrowly escaped injury when a neighbor’s tree crashed through her bedroom and living room as powerful storms moved across the area.
Randall said she is normally in her bedroom around 5 p.m. each day, but this time she felt compelled to remain where she was.
“God told me to stay here, finish watching my movie,” Randall said.
Moments later, the tree tore through her home. The impact destroyed her bed, leaving branches strewn across the roof and into the bedroom where she said she otherwise would have been.
“My bed is destroyed,” Randall said. “There’s a tree over there, and like I said, I normally be in my bedroom around 5.”
After the crash, Randall ran outside into the pouring rain.
“I was on the porch, and I was soaking wet. I was screaming. I was screaming, and nobody heard me,” she said.
She also noted the tree did not come from her own property.
“I have no trees on my property. I’m terrified of trees,” Randall said. “But at the end of the day, God got me.”
The experience left her emotionally shaken. She said she cried for two days, struggled to sleep and felt drained by the ordeal.

Even so, her gratitude outweighed her fear.
“A lot of people didn’t wake up Sunday morning,” Randall said. “He had his angels all over me.”
A roofing contractor inspecting the damage explained that heavy rain can saturate large tree limbs, and strong winds can cause them to snap unexpectedly. He encouraged homeowners to have large trees, especially live oaks, inspected annually to help reduce storm-related risks.
While Randall now faces the difficult task of repairing her home, her testimony remains one of hope rather than despair. She thanks and praises God for sparing her life, and her story serves as a powerful reminder to give thanks for His protection and faithfulness. We praise God that she survived without serious injury and pray He continues to provide for her needs in the days ahead.
